ErrandG Privacy Policy

a. Account details

• Email address, username, and account credentials
• Campus / university you select in the app. A school email is not required
• Phone number, if you add one or where required for certain features
• Bank account details and payout information if you use Runner or other payout features

b. Profile photo (optional)

• You do not have to upload a photo to create an account
• If you upload one, we store the image so other users may recognise you on your profile, errands, chats, Runner-related features, leaderboards, and other areas where your profile is displayed
• You can change or remove your photo later. We may retain copies in backups, completed-job records, or other systems for as long as reasonably necessary for operational, security, legal, or dispute-related purposes

c. Activity and content

• Errands you post, accept, or complete, including item lists, delivery locations, prices, instructions, and status updates
• In-app messages, ratings, reports, and dispute information
• Payment, refund, Float, and payout records
• Information relating to Runner applications, approval, participation, and activity where applicable
• Notification tokens and related information needed to send errand and account notifications

d. Device and technical data

• App version, device type, operating system, and crash or diagnostic information
• IP address and approximate network information
• Technical information about how you use the app, where collected for security, diagnostics, analytics, or service improvement

We use your information to:

• Create, maintain, and secure your account.
• Provide campus-relevant errands and allow users to identify and interact with each other through usernames, campus information, and optional profile photos.
• Process payments, refunds, Runner rewards, Float, and payouts.
• Manage Runner applications, approvals, participation, and access to Runner features.
• Send in-app and push notifications about errands, payments, account activity, and other relevant updates.
• Handle disputes, fraud prevention, safety issues, and misuse of the platform.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, improve, and develop ErrandG and its features.
• Comply with applicable laws, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).

We do not sell or rent your personal data.

We may share information:

• With other users involved in an errand, such as the Poster or Runner, when necessary to complete the errand. This may include your username, selected campus, optional profile photo, and phone number if you have provided one.
• With payment processors and financial service providers, such as Flutterwave, when needed to process payments, refunds, Runner rewards, or payouts.
• With service providers that support ErrandG, such as hosting, database, authentication, email, and notification providers.
• With service providers or other parties where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, investigate misuse, protect users, or resolve disputes.
• Where required by law, legal process, or a lawful request from a competent authority.

Certain information may be visible to other users within the app. For example, usernames, selected campus, optional profile photos, ratings, or activity information may appear in profiles, errands, chats, Runner-related features, or leaderboards where applicable.

Profile photos are optional. Skipping a photo does not prevent you from creating an account.

If you upload a profile photo, we store it and use it in parts of the app where your profile is displayed, such as your profile, errands, chats, Runner-related features, or leaderboards where applicable.

We may compress or process uploaded photos to improve storage efficiency and app performance.

Do not upload a photo of another person unless you have the right or permission to use it.

If you remove your profile photo, it will no longer be displayed as your current profile photo. Copies may remain in backups, completed-job records, older messages, or other records where reasonably necessary for operational, security, legal, or dispute-related purposes.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

Data transmitted between the app and our services may be protected using encrypted connections such as TLS.

Passwords are handled through our authentication system and are not stored by ErrandG in plain text.

Access to production systems and personal data is restricted to authorised persons and services where reasonably necessary.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

We keep personal and transaction data for as long as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide and maintain your account and ErrandG services.
• Complete errands, process payouts, and maintain transaction records.
• Handle disputes, fraud investigations, and Float settlement.
• Meet legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security, or other legitimate business requirements.

You may request deletion of your personal data where applicable. Some information may need to be retained where required by law, necessary to resolve an outstanding dispute, prevent fraud or abuse, or maintain legitimate business records.

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Request deletion of your personal data where applicable.
• Object to or request restriction of certain processing where applicable.
• Withdraw consent where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing.
• Close your ErrandG account, subject to any outstanding obligations or information we are legally required to retain.

ErrandG may collect technical, diagnostic, and usage information to understand how the app is used, identify errors, improve performance, and maintain platform security.

This may include device information, app events, diagnostic information, and other technical identifiers where necessary for these purposes.

ErrandG does not sell personal data or use personal data for third-party advertising.

ErrandG is intended for users who are legally able to agree to these Terms and use the service under applicable law.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals who are not eligible to use ErrandG.

If we learn that we have collected personal data from an ineligible user, we will take reasonable steps to delete or restrict that data, subject to any information we are legally required to retain.

Some service providers that support ErrandG may process or store personal data outside Nigeria.

Where personal data is transferred or processed outside Nigeria, we will take reasonable steps to ensure that the processing is carried out in accordance with applicable Nigerian data protection requirements.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to ErrandG, our data practices, legal requirements, or the features we provide.

The updated policy will include a new "Last Updated" date. Where changes are significant, we may provide additional notice through the app or require you to accept the updated policy before using affected features.

Your continued use of ErrandG after an updated policy becomes effective means that you acknowledge the updated policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
